Train
A train, operated by NJ Transit, runs to Port Jervis. The most convenient route from NYC is via Penn Station to Secaucus (direct train, one stop). At Secaucus transfer to the Port Jervis train. You can also get on the Port Jervis line at Hoboken.

From NYC Penn Station, it is approximately 2 hours & 15 minutes. Port Jervis is the end of the line and Mokuchi is 5 minutes from the station.

From other Northeastern cities, such as Philadelphia or Boston, train routes can connect to the Port Jervis line. From your location, use NJ Transit or a mapping app/website to find the best route.

Train Station to Mokuchi
There are cabs or Uber/Lyft options. When possible, we can try to arrange a pick up if multiple students are arriving on the same train.

Airports
If you’ll be flying, any of the New York area airports are good options.

  • From LaGuardia and JFK, getting to the Port Jervis train is a bit difficult. Driving to Mokuchi is recommended.
  • From Newark Airport, an airport train connects to the Port Jervis train route described above. Use NJ Transit or a mapping app/website to confirm the route and times.
  • New York Stewart is only a 40 minute drive from Port Jervis and avoids the NYC metro area. It is a smaller airport that NY state is expanding. More flights will become available and hopefully more transportation options to Port Jervis. Currently there are not easy bus or train options to Port Jervis. Renting a car to get to Mokuchi is recommended
